What is the maximum capacity of the Grand Ballroom?
The Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 540 guests for banquet, 370 for cabaret, 800 in theatre-style configuration, and 1,000 for cocktail-style events.
What table and seating configurations are available?
The Grand Ballroom can accommodate banquet, cabaret, classroom, and theatre-style configurations.
Can the Grand Ballroom be divided into smaller sections for a more intimate event?
The Grand Ballroom features a large open floor plan designed to accommodate events at scale. It is best suited to single large‑format events rather than being divided into smaller sections. For more intimate events, Azalea Collective offers a range of alternative function and meeting rooms across Levels 1 and 2 of the Event Centre.
Is there a minimum guest number required to book the Grand Ballroom?
No, there is no minimum quest number; however, a minimum spend may apply.
Arrival & Access
Does the Grand Ballroom have a dedicated entrance separate from the main club?
Yes. The Grand Ballroom now has its own dedicated entrance, so guests arrive directly into the event space without passing through any other area of Bankstown Sports Club, making it an ideal space for family-friendly events, cultural celebrations, and dance schools.
Is the Grand Ballroom accessible for guests with mobility requirements?
Yes. The Grand Ballroom is wheelchair accessible and located within Bankstown Sports Club’s Event Centre, which offers accessible entry points, wide aisles, and nearby accessible bathroom facilities.
Is parking available for Grand Ballroom guests?
Yes. Bankstown Sports Club offers free, secure underground parking for event guests. Parking is conveniently located on-site with direct access to the Event Centre.
Food & Beverage
Is catering provided in-house, or can we bring our own caterer?
Catering at Azalea Collective is provided in-house through the precinct’s restaurant and kitchen teams. External catering is not permitted as standard; however, we do accommodate specialist external chefs for cultural celebrations, such as Hindu wedding ceremonies, where specific culinary traditions are required. Please speak with our events team about your specific requirements.
Can the menu be customised for our event?
Yes. Azalea Collective offers tailored menus designed to suit your event style, cultural requirements, and preferences. With multiple kitchens and cuisines available on site, menus can be curated for formal dinners, cultural banquets, cocktail events, and conferences.
Can you cater for halal dietary requirements?
Yes, we can accommodate halal dietary requirements.
Can you accommodate guests with severe food allergies?
Yes. We ask that all dietary requirements and allergies are communicated to our events team at least two weeks prior to the event. Our kitchen manages allergen requirements with care, including separate preparation where necessary. Please disclose any severe allergies, including nut allergies, to your event coordinator during planning.
Is alcohol service included, and how is RSA managed?
Beverage packages, including alcohol, are available. Azalea Collective at Bankstown Sports Club operates under strict Responsible Service of Alcohol standards. All staff are RSA-trained, and alcohol service is professionally managed throughout your event.
Can we have a completely alcohol-free event?
Absolutely. Fully alcohol-free beverage packages are available. This is common for cultural and religious celebrations. Please let your event coordinator know when enquiring.
AV, Tech & Production
What AV equipment is included in the Grand Ballroom room hire?
The Grand Ballroom features state-of-the-art AV and production capabilities, including a large stage, advanced lighting, sound systems, and modern event technology. The space also includes a dedicated green room and a pre-function area. Additional production elements can be arranged as required.
Can we bring our own AV supplier or production company?
This can be arranged; please speak to your event coordinator.
Is there a stage in the Grand Ballroom?
Yes. The Grand Ballroom includes a large stage suitable for live entertainment, presentations, award ceremonies, and conferences.
Is there a dance floor?
Yes. There are multiple options for dance floors in the Grand Ballroom.
What Wi-Fi facilities are available for large events?
Wi-Fi can be provided for all events.

What time does the Grand Ballroom need to be vacated after an event?
This would depend on your event needs. Your event coordinator will be able to provide more information.
Are decorations permitted, and are there any restrictions?
The Grand Ballroom allows for light-touch or floor-to-ceiling full theming. The team can talk you through the options.

Yes. Azalea Collective at Bankstown Sports Club is connected to the Mercure Bankstown. Guests can book rooms and walk directly from the event space to the hotel. Group rates may be available—please speak with your event coordinator.
